About Job
We are looking for a Head of Crop Production who has expertise and knowledge in developing Agronomic SOP’s to advice farmers. The individual must be a techno-commercial professional who can set direction and strategy in Crop Production. He will be responsible for 60-80k MT ~ INR 200CRof annual procurement of agri-produce/output/commodity-like spices, staples, millets, cereals, oilseeds, herbs, vegetables, etc across the country through a farmer base engaged in contract farming with the company.
Job Description
People management
- Handling pan India multi-linguistic teams of 150 Agri professionals / subject matter experts
Field Production
- To lead a team of 150 Agri Procurement staff and oversee the general management of the production, developments, and defect identification for improvement of operations.
- Ensure that farmers are given proper training & products for the best quality products.
- Facilitate a team approach to achieve organizational objectives, increase productivity & developed employee morale.
- Preparing annual operating plans for contract farming.
- To compile the annual farming operation budget in time, a quantity of produce procured from each crop area from registered farmers, and commercial procurement and update the same period as required.
- Review and recommends revisions to processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency.
Agri Produce Procurement
- Procurement of quality Agri commodities like staples, spices, sugar, etc. and implement quality systems and procedures to ensure strict adherence to quality parameters and reduce process rejections.
- Implement and tweak negotiation tactics & ensure procurement at the right price.
- Should be able to discover the right price points in a timely manner for cost-effective procurement operations of agri-commodities.
- Establishing Vendor relationships in different geographies to improve purchases.
- To prevent malpractices or unethical practices in procurement of agri produce
