About Job
Our client company is seeking a highly skilled professional to take on the role of Deputy General Manager (DGM) or General Manager (GM) of Production. The successful candidate will oversee all functions of the Assembly Department, including production planning, machine assembly and testing, budgeting, resource planning, and reporting to management. They will be responsible for testing and troubleshooting machines in mechanical, electrical, electronics, and hydraulics, as well as providing technical support for blow moulding and injection moulding machines.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

Departmental Oversight:
- Manage all aspects of the Assembly & Testing department, including production planning, machine assembly, testing, and quality control.
- Prepare daily production plans based on weekly and monthly production targets.

Team Management:
- Assign work to team members, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to production schedules.
- Develop competency among team members through training and mentoring initiatives.

Quality Assurance:
- Ensure machine quality meets established standards and take corrective and preventive actions as needed to address any issues.
- Implement and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), 5S principles, and Kaizen initiatives to continuously improve processes.

Production Execution:
- Execute the production of machines according to the established plan, ensuring timely delivery and meeting quality requirements.

Process Improvement:
- Lead efforts to develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality within the Assembly Department.

Team Development:
- Develop and mentor the production team, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their professional and organizational goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in production management, preferably in the manufacturing of blow moulding or injection moulding machines.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing large production teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Proven track record of implementing quality control measures and process improvements to optimize production efficiency.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles, including SOPs, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in budgeting, resource planning, and reporting to senior management.
