The Head of R&D will spearhead research initiatives and take charge of shaping the overarching strategy and planning for all crop breeding-related R&D programs at the client company. This role will place particular emphasis on key crops such as cotton, millet, mustard, maize, paddy, tomato, chili, and okra, ensuring that the research aligns with the company's goals and advances innovation in these vital areas.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead hybrid advancements and line development programs.
- Manage and enhance germplasm resources.
- Develop and execute long-term plant breeding strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Drive the development and commercialization of high-yielding products with abiotic and biotic resistance.
- Upgrade infrastructure to secure a long-term competitive edge.
- Develop and manage the R&D budget, ensuring progress aligns with goals.
- Evaluate seed breeding research projects to meet deadlines and milestones, both domestically and internationally.
- Design and oversee all aspects of plant breeding programs, from fieldwork to data analysis.
- Foster and grow institutional relationships in India and abroad to access new genetics and technologies.
- Coordinate with marketing programs to align research with evolving customer needs.
- Promote positive collaboration with breeders to fast-track new product development.
- Collaborate with Regulatory departments to ensure compliance.
