Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Strategic Growth & Market Positioning: Develop and execute regional marketing strategies to drive sales and establish the product as a premium plant nutrition solution.
- Market Intelligence & Competitive Edge: Identify and enhance unique selling propositions using in-depth market research and competitor analysis.
- Team Leadership & Performance Management: Guide Market Development Experts and Product Promoters to achieve sales and development goals.
- Distributor & Partner Relations: Strengthen collaborations with key distributors, including major fertilizer companies, to achieve volume and margin targets.
- Marketing & Promotional Strategies: Design and implement impactful campaigns, promotional events, and marketing initiatives to boost sales.
- Operational Oversight & Reporting: Maintain strategic business plans, oversee administrative processes, capture market intelligence, and report periodically to senior management.
- Demand Planning & Forecasting: Provide accurate demand forecasts and strategic input on inventory planning to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Training: Develop and mentor a network of distributor agronomists and field teams to execute marketing and educational programs.
- Customer & Partner Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential partners, customers, and scientific organizations.
- Market Trends & Strategic Refinement: Continuously analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor strategies to refine sales objectives.
Expertise, Knowledge & Professional Experience
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field; an M.Sc. or MBA is preferred.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 8 years in business development or commercial roles within the fertilizers and crop nutrition sector.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of drip irrigation, fertigation techniques, and foliar application methods.
- Market & Regulatory Understanding: Experience in B2B sales within an international environment, with sound knowledge of economic, legal, and regulatory aspects of selling fertilizers in India.
- Entrepreneurial & Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify opportunities, take ownership of performance, and act with efficiency, effectiveness, and integrity.
- Communication & Language Skills: Proficiency in Hindi, English, and preferably one local language.
- Flexibility & Travel Readiness: Willingness to travel frequently for business expansion and market engagement.
- Analytical & Decision-Making Skills: Strong organizational discipline, numerical acumen, and ability to make fact-based strategic decisions.
- Tech Savviness: Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
