Our esteemed client is seeking a dynamic professional to drive growth strategies for key seed products, including maize, research wheat, pearl millet, and mustard. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in identifying and evaluating transformative opportunities to expand the business and product portfolio. Key responsibilities include strategic planning and execution of seed marketing initiatives, demand generation, and enhancing product awareness among farmers. Additionally, the role involves spearheading product campaigns and promotions, ensuring alignment with the organization’s short-term and long-term objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and strategic acumen to foster sustainable growth in the agricultural sector.

Job Description


The incumbent will play a pivotal role in supporting the planning and driving of growth strategies for various seed products. This will involve identifying and evaluating new transformative opportunities and adjacent areas to expand the business and product portfolio. The individual will be primarily responsible for the development and execution of the seed strategy, with a focus on demand generation. This includes creating awareness about the organization’s products, services, and other offerings among farmers. Additionally, the incumbent will be instrumental in leading product campaigns and promotions, ensuring alignment with both short-term and long-term organizational goals.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement growth strategies for seed products like maize, wheat, pearl millet, and mustard.
  2. Identify and evaluate new transformative opportunities to expand the business and product portfolio.
  3. Plan and execute seed strategy, focusing on demand generation and farmer engagement.
  4. Lead product campaigns and promotions aligned with short-term and long-term organizational goals.
  5. Set product-wise targets based on market segmentation, product fit, and competitive analysis.
  6. Identify product gaps and recommend new product or variety introductions.
  7. Oversee pre-launch and post-launch planning, branding, packaging, and vendor coordination.
  8. Develop strategic plans to achieve revenue and margin targets for the seed business.
  9. Collaborate with Sales & Marketing teams to formulate sales strategies and ensure product availability.
  10. Monitor product movement and category contribution, ensuring liquidation of slow-moving inventory.
  11. Drive execution of marketing initiatives, including ATL, BTL, digital marketing, and loyalty programs.
  12. Recruit, train, and monitor contractual manpower for effective market execution.
  13. Provide competitive intelligence and insights on product lifecycle and market trends.
  14. Strengthen dealer networks, retailer relationships, and execute retail visibility strategies.
  15. Conduct sales team training on product positioning, customer requirements, and market dynamics.
