The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying transformative opportunities to expand the product portfolio. A key focus will be the planning and execution of seed strategies, alongside generating demand and raising awareness of the company’s offerings among farmers. This individual will play a pivotal role in product campaigns and promotions, ensuring alignment with both short-term and long-term organizational objectives.
Job Description
The role is focused on driving growth strategies for various seed products, identifying new opportunities, and expanding the product portfolio. The incumbent will oversee strategic planning, demand generation, and marketing initiatives to ensure alignment with both short-term and long-term goals. Key responsibilities include managing product lifecycle, brand positioning, and executing campaigns. Effective collaboration with sales, marketing, and cross-functional teams will be vital to build product awareness, enhance channel partnerships, and contribute to business growth in the seed industry.
Job Responsibilities:
Product-wise Business Planning:
- Set product targets based on market segmentation and competitive analysis.
- Identify product gaps and recommend new varieties or introductions.
- Oversee new product launches, including planning, branding, and vendor coordination.
- Develop strategic plans for revenue and margin growth.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create effective product strategies.
- Monitor product movement and develop strategies for slow movers.
Demand Generation & Brand Building:
- Lead demand generation initiatives to build product awareness.
- Oversee ATL, BTL, digital marketing, and loyalty programs.
- Recruit and train contractual manpower for effective product promotion.
- Maintain competitive intelligence by tracking trends and innovations.
- Manage marketing plans and budgets for product launches and campaigns.
- Utilize digital tools for field monitoring and customer engagement.
Channel Strategy:
- Monitor market depth and width for growth opportunities.
- Manage new dealer appointments and strengthen the network.
- Foster retailer relationships and plan in-shop branding and activations.
- Launch targeted schemes for consumers and channel partners.
- Conduct post-sales analysis to evaluate and improve campaign performance.
Technical Capability Building:
- Conduct training for sales teams on product positioning and new launches.
- Analyze customer needs and market trends to inform product strategies.
Desired Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and presentation.
- 5-8 years of experience in product management, preferably in the seed industry.
- Strong understanding of seed business, product lifecycle, and relationship management.
