The Head of Quality will be responsible for establishing and governing world-class quality systems across all product categories, manufacturing sites, and supply chain processes. This role requires deep expertise in food safety, regulatory compliance, analytical testing, and validation, ensuring every product meets premium, consistent, and audit-ready standards. S/He will drive stringent quality governance, build robust monitoring frameworks, and implement advanced testing protocols to uphold superior ingredient quality trusted by B2B customers. The position demands a strategic, detail-oriented quality leader capable of elevating standards, minimizing risks, and ensuring flawless compliance across a dynamic, high-growth food manufacturing environment.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and strengthen the Quality Control & Assurance function across all manufacturing sites.
- Develop and implement specifications for raw materials, intermediary ingredients, and finished goods to ensure uniformity and compliance with customer expectations.
- Build systems for raw material testing, in-process checks, finished product quality, and shelf-life validation.
- Apply technical expertise to adjust raw material variability and seasonal vagaries, ensuring consistent performance of finished products.
- Drive compliance with FSSAI, ISO, HACCP, BRC, and international food safety standards.
- Collaborate with R&D and Production teams to ensure formulations are consistent and scalable without compromise on quality.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing quality & lab analytics team.
- Implement data-driven quality systems with focus on statistical process control and predictive analysis.
- Ensure customer audits, certifications, and compliance are consistently met.
- Partner with suppliers for vendor quality management and raw material standardization.
- Benchmark against global best practices and set new quality standards in bakery and food ingredients.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Proven track record of handling multi-unit QC functions in large-scale food manufacturing.
- Strong ability to design and manage product specifications for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
- Expertise in handling raw material variations to ensure finished product stability and consistency.
- Deep knowledge of food chemistry, emulsions, fats & oils, bakery science, and confectionery systems.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills, with ability to influence senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
