The Breeding Lead is a senior leadership role responsible for designing and advancing breeding programs across major field crops such as paddy, wheat, maize, millets, forage, and mustard. The role focuses on delivering high-performing varieties with improved yields, stronger biotic and abiotic stress tolerance, enhanced nutrition, climate resilience, and farmer-centric traits. It involves strategic planning, adoption of advanced breeding technologies, and collaboration across functions to ensure consistent product development. The position manages a dedicated annual breeding budget and leads Senior Breeders, supported by a team of Sr/Jr. Scientists. Key responsibilities include driving innovation, strengthening breeding pipelines, and building a capable, motivated R&D team.
